Moon Salutation/Chandra Namaskar Yoga Asana

(Intensity Level: Slow to Medium Vigour, Rejuvenating, Cooling + Warming Practice)

This deeply rejuvenating practice connects us to the moon essence in us, opening up our creativity, intuition, emotional intelligence, and strong cosmic feminine energy (regardless of our gender we all have this energy in us! And since its an energy that our modern society tries to ignore or suppress we can give it a little more care here). The moon’s essence is often likened to a sacred nectar, soma (as in our namesake!), that moistens our hearts with the softness and strength of compassion and is said to be the ambrosia of wellbeing, health, and spiritual opening. Just like the moon is always whole, even when we can’t see it, so are we.

*Great for grounding, for warm summer days, or heated or wavering emotions.

Note: the beginning mantra was chanted in an unconventional order however the meaning and intent is the same as traditionally noted. The conventional/traditional order of the lines are:
Om Saha Nau-Avatu |
Saha Nau Bhunaktu |
Saha Viiryam Karavaavahai |
Tejasvi Nau-Adhiitam-Astu Maa Vidvissaavahai |
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||
